Wider Opportunities – 20th March 2015

I came to observe the wider curriculum opportunities in the Junior School and was invited to join the year 3 children in their weekly ukulele lesson. Provided by the Government Wider Opportunities Funding, it provides access for free instrumental taster sessions to develop musical skills generally as a whole class. Children behaved impeccably whilst singing and playing the chord sequences they had learned. They showed a developed knowledge of musical terms and enjoyed immensely composing their own sequences which they confidently shared with the class. This is a wonderful provision and such a fun way to engage our children in music making experiences.
