School Association News – January 2016

Hopefully everyone is coping with the rain and grey skies, and managing not to get too wet!

We wanted to show what YFSA has been able to buy/ pay for with the money raised due to your help, support and attendance to the various events we have run this school year.

Fireworks night – £3,557.98, Christmas Disco – £1,479.26, Toy Sale – £471.33, Nativity Refreshments – £794.56, Easy2name labels – £49.68, Junior Movie night – £518.86, Cake sales – £173.52, Mufti Day – £212.43, Christmas Hamper – £284, Printer empties – £86 ,Easy Fundraising – £20.46, Northbrook Wrapping paper – £23.08, Cauliflower cards – £278.50.

This gives us a whopping total of £7,949.66 and we are only just half way through the year!!!!!

SOOOO…… what have we been spending your money on?

Cooking money – £100, Classroom Grants – £1,800 (Infants), £2,400 (Juniors), Transport for school trips – £439.20 (Infants), £610 (Juniors), Smart screen for the infant school hall – £3,977, Performance of Peter Pan for the whole of the Infants school – £150, Learning College – £1,500.

So far we have spent £10,926

We have been lucky to have a residual balance, from the two committees becoming one             (YISA & YJSA – YFSA), which we have been able to spend on the smart screen, for the Infants School hall, and have put aside £8,500 to pay for renovating the food technology room so that it can be used by children across both schools and accommodate more children at any one time.

This is not enough, however, and we want to do more!

Come along to the meetings, help out at events, buy your labels through easy2name labels, do your shopping through easy fundraising, bake and help us get the children what they need to help support their education! Without volunteers, we cannot run the events, meaning less money for the school to spend on all the fun stuff!!!!

We have a meeting for the Carnival set for Wednesday, 2nd March 19:30, at the Market Inn, and we want everyone to come along who thinks they can help or has an opinion on what we are doing.

Dates for the Diary: 12/02/16 – Mufti Day, 26/02/16 – Infant Movie Night, 02/03/16 – Carnival meeting, 31/03/16 – Easter Bingo
