Pupil Voice and School Council
At Yatton Infant School we are proud of the ways in which we give children opportunities to express their views, give suggestions and be involved in making decisions about many issues that affect them and others in school life.
One of the ways we do this is through our School Councils. Each year, all pupils have the chance to put themselves forward as a class representative on the school council. Children then vote for the girl and boy they wish to represent them during the year.
Once elected, the class reps meet regularly to discuss issues and put forward ideas to improve aspects of school life. They might make decisions on school rules or fund-raising, for example, or take on responsibilities around school.
